Amidst the signs of a recovery in the global economy, the currencies of commodity countries – the South African rand and the Mexican peso, were in demand. Euro and European currencies have strengthened over the past 7 days, as economic data from the EU were positive. The main reason for this was the EU’s GDP drop by 12.1% in quarterly terms, and the US GDP decline by 32.9% in the 2nd quarter of 2020.
