In trading on Thursday, non-precious metals & non-metallic mining shares were relative laggards, down on the day by about 2%. Helping drag down the group were shares of Globe Specialty Metals (GSM), down about 9.5% and shares of Avalon Rare Metals Common (AVL) off about 5.1% on the day.
