Along with a plethora of online trading platforms, new traders can also access a number of online trading schools. Below we’ve reviewed three of the most popular free online trading schools, giving you the pros and cons of each.
This trading school (the School of Pipsology) has ordered their lessons according to the US educational system, whereby the simplest subjects are placed in a preschool folder, whilst the most complicated are given the “graduation” tag. This simple grading technique will allows you to find material appropriate to your knowledge and understanding of the trading markets. There are lots of resources available, all written, and each category of difficulty has a main menu in which to view the options.
On the negative side, the website does use very simplistic language, and you may not wish to be on the receiving end of what can be at times somewhat patronising language, for example: “Remember when you were but a little teeny weeny bopper attending grade school? No? Well, let us take you through the whole schooling jungle again, but we’re doing it FX-Men style”. This type of language is used even in the more complicated guides. For the more discerning reader, the site is also littered with spelling and grammar errors.
This is one of our favourite online schools. The lessons are all free to access, and both beginners and experienced traders will be able to benefit from the insights offered. As with BabyPips, the lessons are arranged in a number of different courses, so you’ll be able to choose a topic before deciding on which specific lesson within that category you wish to access.
Of enormous benefit are the different multimedia resources offered by the website. Each resource page comes with an embedded video, as well as a text version if you prefer to read the material. After learning about a particular topic, you’ll be able to take small quizzes to ensure that you’ve properly absorbed the material – an excellent learning tool in our opinion!
