China Q3 GDP and ECB the main focus in the week ahead

All eyes will be on China during the week, with third quarter GDP data possibly showing that economic growth fell below the psychological 7% level.

Later in the day, the NAHB Housing Market Index is released in the US.

On Tuesday, current account data are released for the Eurozone. Meanwhile, Germany sees the publication of producer price figures.

Wholesale trade numbers are out in Canada.

In the US, housing starts numbers and building permit figures are issued.

On Wednesday, Japan sees the release of trade data.

In the UK, public sector borrowing data are issued, while Markit releases its latest UK Household Finance Index.

The Bank of Canada announces its latest monetary policy decision.

On Thursday the highlight will be the European Central Bank policy meeting. The central bank will announce its latest monetary policy decision.

The recent Eurozone data flow is not weak enough to convince policy makers to take more aggressive action just yet. Therefore, no change is expected when the ECB announces its latest monetary policy decision on Thursday.

Also on Thursday, the European Commission publishes consumer confidence data.

Retail sales numbers are released in Canada and the UK.

Initial jobless claims numbers and existing home sales figures are updated in the US.

Finally on Friday, flash PMI results are published for Japan, the Eurozone and the US.

House price numbers are released in China.

Germany sees the publication of import price figures.

In Canada, inflation figures are released along with US flash Manufacturing PMI
