Week Ahead –BoJ, RBA, FOMC minutes in focus next week

Next week begins with second quarter GDP numbers from Japan. From Europe we will see trade data for the Eurozone. As far as US data is concerned, it would be important to look at the NAHB Housing Market Index and NY Fed manufacturing data.

On Tuesday, the Reserve Bank of Australia releases its latest monetary policy meeting minutes. China will publish house price figures. The Central Bank of Turkey announces its latest interest rate decisions. This will be important to watch considering the Turkish Lira has fallen to record low levels against the US dollar and against the euro.
Meanwhile, inflation numbers are updated in the UK. In the US, housing starts numbers and building permit data are out.

On Wednesday, Japanese trade data are released. Then current account data are published for the Eurozone. Focus will then turn to the US consumer price and real earnings numbers. The FOMC minutes will also be important to watch.

On Thursday the Bank of Japan monetary policy statement will be out followed by a press conference.
Germany publishes producer price numbers while in the UK, retail sales and CBI orders figures are released.
Canada sees the publication of wholesale trade numbers and the US releases initial jobless claims data and the Philly Fed Business Index.

Friday is quite an important day as flash PMI results are released in China, Japan, the Eurozone and the US. In addition, consumer confidence data are out in the Eurozone.
In Canada, retail sales and inflation data are updated. Ove the weekend, the Jackson Hole Symposium will be held and this is quite an important event since it is attended by central bankers.
